Personalized Cards: No Experience Necessary

This three-hour workshop will show you a fun way students will hand carve and print linoleum blocks using simple motifs on a variety of papers, to create multiple sweetheart cards (or not so sweet if you prefer) for friends or loved ones. Relief printing can lend itself easily to many projects from making personalized cards and invitations to fine art prints. No experience necessary; all levels welcome. The school will supply all materials.

No printmaking experience? No problem! This three-hour workshop will show you a fun way to take your drawings and ideas to a new level. Whether you are a true beginner or have some previous relief printing experience, you will walk out with your own relief linocut print made by using various forms of mark making (carving), working with subject matter of your choice. Different printing and editioning methods will also be discussed and demonstrated. We will look at examples of other printmakers' work, and see what style works best for you. Do not be intimidated! Relief printing lends itself easily to many projects from making personalized cards and invitations to fine art prints. The school will supply all materials.
